Description

  • Just 3 former keepers
  • 69k miles – thought to be genuine
  • Fitted with a Webasto type sunroof
  • Original specification interior and number plates
  • Supplied with original members handbook, old MOT certificates and 1 set of keys
  • An ideal starter classic

As the Standard 8 and 10 models came to an end, Triumph knew it needed to bring to market a new model. The company turned to Italian stylist Michelotti. He came up with a car bristling with style. The Herald was born, and production ran from 1959 to 1071.

The designers decided that the Triumph Herald should have a separate chassis and body. The main body was bolted on and the whole front end hinged forward. Every panel, including the sills and roof, could be unbolted from the car.

This Triumph Herald

Here we have a 1966 Triumph Herald 12/50 two door Saloon,  finished in Wedgewood Blue with black carpets and blue vinyl seats. It is a lovely looking car.

With only three former keepers showing on the V5, this Herald appears to have been cherished throughout its lifetime.

Triumph Heralds are an ideal starter classic, parts for these cars are readily available. Maintenance and servicing is simple and straightforward, this one is all ready to go.

Fitted with a Webasto type sun roof, you’re ready for some summer motoring or take her to a show

Our vendor only recently bought this Herald with the intention of adding it to his small collection. Unfortunately plans change and this now needs to find a new home due to space constraints.

He advises us:

  • The bodywork is in excellent condition – There is just a little bit of corrosion in the boot area (image in gallery)
  • No visible dents or scuffs
  • The car appears to be solid
  • Tyres are all good
  • The interior is pretty good overall, there is a headlining rip near the interior mirror that needs some attention
  • The car runs fine, no work has been undertaken since I bought her
  • She has been stored undercover during my ownership
  • Everything works “as it should”
  • Comes with 1 set of keys, Original members handbook, old MOTs and the current V5

Our view

This classic Triumph Herald is full of charm as well as being very practical. Admired for its easiness to live with, reliability and style. They’re also really simple to maintain and practical enough to use as a daily driver

Our vendor needs to find a new home for her, perhaps a starter classic for our winning bidder? Good luck!

Vehicle Location: Southampton, Hant SO32– it’s the responsibility of the winning bidder to make collection / transportation arrangements directly with the vendor

Guide Prices?

We’re different. But you know that. And we’re always honest. In a sector where no two classic cars are same, how does anyone put a ‘guide’.

Well, everyone knows the broad value of classic, let’s all be honest. So we don’t need to tell you what you already know, do we.

The ‘market’ decides and the old cliché that ‘cars are worth what someone wants to pay’ is no less true. So why kid everyone!

But, because we are different, if it really does matter to you, that’s fine, we want you to be happy. Just drop us a line at auction@evoke-classics.com and one of us will be delighted to ring you back and discuss, it’s what we do.

Tedious but it’s vital you read this, please.

We will always strive to offer the most descriptive and transparent auction listings available. However, we can’t claim to be perfect. Your own analysis is very important and we are here to help and also answer any and all queries you may have prior to purchase.

We offer and positively encourage bidders to view, or arrange inspections for each vehicle thoroughly prior to bidding.

If we do take a physical, as opposed to a remote, look at any of the vehicles on our platform, they are not those of a qualified vehicle inspector or other professional. Nor do they include a test drive unless expressly stated.

As with all vehicles of a certain age, localised paint repairs are common. This specifically applies with classics.

So, please, unless we state explicitly to the contrary, please assume that classic vehicles on our platform could have had remedial bodywork of any kind at some point in its life.

Two final comments on images and photos.

The vast majority are supplied by vendors. Camera technology has and continues to improve significantly, but please note and understand that image and sound quality does vary. If you would like vendors to provide more images please ask us and we will contact the vendor for you.

If you are at all unsure, just ask us. It is what we are here for.

Finally, finally, finally. Please note that vehicles are sold as seen and a returns policy is not applicable. This is the norm for used items acquired at auction.
