1971 Triumph Herald 13/60 Convertible *Project*

In 1967 Triumph updated their Herald range with the introduction of the 13/60. The front end had a revamp, the interior was made more spacious and the engine upgraded to 1296cc making it much more usable.

We are pleased to be offering this 1971 Triumph Herald 13/60 Convertible, not only because we believe that every car deserves to be saved, but we also feel that it is a perfect blank canvas for someone to put their own stamp on.

The vendor hasn’t owned the project very long at all, but he admits that enthusiasm has waned since making the purchase and he would love someone to ‘take the wheel’ and bring her back to life.

Originally finished in red, the shell had already been stripped down to bare metal and all the welding had been professionally carried out by the previous owner, including new front floor pans. We are told the body is solid.

As you can see from the photos, the engine and gearbox are currently out. The engine supplied is a later 13/60 1296 engine which our vendor tells us “runs sweet”. Engine number GK4527HE. There are also several boxes of parts present, which include:

• Windscreen
• Front seats
• Wiper motor and linkage
• Head lamps
• Tail lamps
• Bumper caps
• Wood dash
• Heater motor assembly
• Brake components

The tyres hold air but will need to be replaced due to their age.

The V5 is present. No other paperwork is present except for a photo of the Triumph Herald before it was stripped.

In our opinion, as a solid blank canvas, this Triumph Herald Project has the potential to be brought back to life, whether that be as a concours restoration, track car, resto mod or dare we say it ………………………. an electric conversion! The choice is yours.
