Does any other bike give the feeling that a Harley Davidson does? This beautiful custom motorcycle takes things to another level.

The genesis of this magnificent work of art is a 1999 Harley Davidson Dyna FXDX Sport Glide 1450cc. In its own right, the FXDX Sport is a great bike. It provides the perfect base for a project like this because it was essentially, Harley’s way of successfully breaking into the custom bike market.

Harley-Davidson fed its enormous line of motorcycles with a steady stream of improvements. The Dyna Glide series was no exception.

The success of FXDX Super Glide Sport is well known. What made it outstanding was the Twin Cam 88” motor. The 1450cc Evo replacement is quiet, smooth and powerful. When it comes to sheer strength, it is recognised as one of the best V-twins. This Dyna uses the carburettor version of this motor which makes for a fabulous induction noise and ease of maintenance too. Then there is this stunning conversion to custom Dyna.

We’ll let Mark our vendor take up the story from here.

This is a superb bike and always gathers attention when on the road or even just parked up. It has been built to a very high standard.

All the parts used in this build are genuine accessory parts, not cheap after-market options.

I’ve owned the Harley Davidson for 18 months and use it regularly. I travel to events and shows where it gets a tremendous amount of attention. I also use it for social rides as you can see from the images. It provides a nice comfortable ride. The images show some of the bikes I ride with, so you get a sense of how it performs.

When I purchased it, I did a couple of things. Firstly, I had it MOT’d and I fitted two new tyres. Then I shipped it off to the local Harley Davidson Dealer for a thorough check over. It came back with my wallet lighter but with a clean bill of health”.

This build is so comprehensive it would be impossible to list every single nut bolt and washer that has gone into this terrific Harley Davidson. But we do set out below the main items:

  • 5 speed gearbox
  • Carburettor model
  • USA built Kraft Tech Softail frame
  • Custom paintwork
  • Ultima front end
  • Outlaw foot controls
  • Custom Oil filter
  • Diamond stitched leather single seat
  • Comes with an optional spare
  • USA Figure Machine air intake
  • Big Spoke laced wheels
  • Skirt blower exhausts
  • Chrome brake calipers
  • Custom mirrors
  • Digital instrument head
  • Custom paint work

The list goes on and on. Take five minutes to look around the Image Gallery.

We’ll leave Mark to sum it all up.

If you are looking for something different, a little bit of ‘Old Skool” or “Easy Rider” then you won’t go wrong with this bike for reliability and to put a smile on your face. I’m only selling to make room for delivery of a new touring bike.” Worth noting aswell that the Harley Davidson is supplied with a new MOT to April 2024.

Our view

It is clear this is an absolute stunner. It’s also clear the build had no expense spared. However, the reserve is set extremely sensibly. This sale is not about return on investment. You cannot put a price on the sheer pleasure a bike like this brings.

The Dyna Sport is a superb Harley Davidson. We often see these builds. Many of them are all show and no go. As Mark says and shows in the images, this is a useable custom that you can hop on for a short blast or a longer ride-out with mates. Given the quality of the build we suspect turning up and entering a few shows could well result in a one or two rosettes being issued to. A great bike. Sensibly priced. Ready to go.

Footnote from Mark – “Please note. The stated mileage* does not represent true and actual mileage as this is unknown due to the conversion work carried out”.

 Guide Prices?

We’re different. But you know that. And we’re always honest. In a sector where no two classics are same, how does anyone put a ‘guide’.

Well, everyone knows the broad value of classic, let’s all be honest. So we don’t need to tell you what you already know, do we.

The ‘market’ decides and the old cliché that ‘it’s are worth what someone wants to pay’ is no less true. So why kid everyone!

But, because we are different, if it really does matter to you, that’s fine, we want you to be happy. Just drop us a line at auction@evoke-classics.com and one of us will be delighted to ring you back and discuss, it’s what we do.

Tedious but it’s vital you read this, please.

We will always strive to offer the most descriptive and transparent auction listings available. However, we can’t claim to be perfect. Your own analysis is very important and we are here to help and also answer any and all queries you may have prior to purchase.

We offer and positively encourage bidders to view, or arrange inspections for each vehicle thoroughly prior to bidding.

If we do take a physical, as opposed to a remote, look at any of the vehicles on our platform, they are not those of a qualified vehicle inspector or other professional. Nor do they include a test drive unless expressly stated.

As with all vehicles of a certain age, localised paint repairs are common. This specifically applies with classics.

So, please, unless we state explicitly to the contrary, please assume that classic vehicles on our platform could have had remedial bodywork of any kind at some point in its life.

Two final comments on images and photos.

The vast majority are supplied by vendors. Camera technology has and continues to improve significantly, but please note and understand that image and sound quality does vary. If you would like vendors to provide more images please ask us and we will contact the vendor for you.

If you are at all unsure, just ask us. It is what we are here for.

Finally, finally, finally. Please note that vehicles are sold as seen and a returns policy is not applicable. This is the norm for used items acquired at auction.
