Description

  • Six speed gearbox
  • 225bhp engine
  • All standard
  • MOT’d to May 2024

Until the TT came along, Audi was perceived as a conservative maker of cars. Then the TT, inspired by Bauhaus, arrived. There wasn’t anything like the  Audi TT, and there still isn’t. The TT is pretty and it’s pretty good. Initially the Audi TT was offered with a brilliant 1.8T turbocharged petrol engine. The engine is a delight. Free-revving and punchy.  After a short while, buyers could opt for the upgrade 225bhp engine with four-wheel drive Quattro, like this one.

Outside

Visually, it’s hard to imagine a more striking car than the Audi TT. From the integrated front air dam to flush rear lamps, it looks both innovative and subtle. Front and rear overhangs are exceptionally short. The low roofline of the Coupe, swooping back to front, conveys a feeling of speed. In this version it’s true.

  • Finished in the original colour of Brilliant Red
  • The grille section of the front bumper has some paint delamination
  • There is a small dink on the nearside sill
  • A section of the tailgate has some peeling lacquer
  • There are one or two other age related marks as shown in the Gallery
  • Original 9-spoke alloys

 Interior

  • Leather seats
  • Good carpets
  • Door cards in good condition
  • Six dial dash
  • The interior of the Audi TT Quattro is purposeful and well laid out

It could all do with a good dose of elbow grease. Something the new owner can take care of, now that Summer has nearly arrived.

Mechanicals

  • Transverse engine layout
  • Sophisticated and extremely fast-reacting electro-hydraulic torque distribution
  • 1.8 litre engine
  • Four-cylinder 20v turbo
  • Dual exhaust tailpipe
  • The Haldex traction differential calculates how much drive should be directed to the rear wheel, automatically distributing power between the front and rear wheels
  • 0-60 in 6.1 seconds
  • Top speeds of 145mph

Summary

If you want a pure feel-good car, that is slick, fun and won’t prove to be financial suicide, an Audi TT should be high on your list. They are extraordinary value right now too.

That won’t last for ever. We are seeing an increasing scarcity in the early standard models like this one that haven’t been chipped and modified. Not surprisingly, many experts are tipping these Audi TTs as the next hot classic.

Good luck bidding! Please remember, our site uses anti-sniping software which ensures fairness to all bidders. So, if a bid for a lot is received in the last minute, the auction will go into a 2-minute overtime period for each subsequent bid.

Vehicle Location: Lutterworth, Leics LE17– it’s the responsibility of the winning bidder to make collection / transportation arrangements directly with the vendor.

Guide Prices?

We’re different. But you know that. And we’re always honest. In a sector where no two classics are same, how does anyone put a ‘guide’.

Well, everyone knows the broad value of classic, let’s all be honest. So we don’t need to tell you what you already know, do we.

The ‘market’ decides and the old cliché that ‘it’s worth what someone wants to pay’ is no less true. So why kid everyone!

But, because we are different, if it really does matter to you, that’s fine, we want you to be happy. Just drop us a line at team@evoke-classics.com and one of us will be delighted to ring you back and discuss, it’s what we do.

Tedious but it’s vital you read this, please.

We will always strive to offer the most descriptive and transparent auction listings available. However, we can’t claim to be perfect. Your own analysis is very important and we are here to help and also answer any and all queries you may have prior to purchase.

We offer and positively encourage buyers to view, or arrange inspections for each vehicle thoroughly prior to bidding.

If we do take a physical, as opposed to a remote, look at any of the vehicles on our platform, they are not those of a qualified vehicle inspector or other professional. Nor do they include a test drive unless expressly stated.

As with all vehicles of a certain age, localised paint repairs are common. This specifically applies with classics.

So, please, unless we state explicitly to the contrary, please assume that classic vehicles on our platform could have had remedial bodywork of any kind at some point in its life.

Two final comments on images and photos.

The vast majority are supplied by vendors. Camera technology has and continues to improve significantly, but please note and understand that image and sound quality does vary. If you would like vendors to provide more images please ask us and we will contact the vendor for you.

If you are at all unsure, just ask us. It is what we are here for.

Finally, finally, finally. Please note that vehicles are sold as seen and a returns policy is not applicable. This is the norm for used items acquired at auction.
