Lotus Elan Sprint 1972
DESCRIPTION
Exact production numbers of Elan Sprints would elude the Scotland Yard’s finest. What is agreed by all the recognised experts is between 1,000 -1,300 ever made which makes this Elan very rare indeed.
Purchased from a deceased estate, where it had been for over a decade, this Sprint is being prepared to reliable fast road spec. Using the base as Tony Thompson’s 26R has to be the best possible starting point. New looms and suspension, again sourced from Tony Thompson, will recreate the original factory finish. The engine is being fully overhauled by the much respected London based TK Engineering and will be the heartbeat of the restoration.
This Sprint has survived dry storage outstandingly well, keeping its original interior in remarkable condition with its exclusive Colin Chapman signed steering wheel which alone retail for in excess of one thousand pounds between collectors. The vehicle is in early stages of restoration and represents a wonderful opportunity to individually bespoke your very own exclusive Sprint to your specific requirements.
