Mobile eateries have become incredibly popular in the past decade and quirky mobile food trucks have become one of the fastest growing trends in the food industry.

With the Summer festival season approaching, this is a great opportunity to buy an already established mobile catering vehicle that is ready to go.

The business opportunity.

Hills Pizza Truck. Formed in 2018 by husband and wife team, Nick and Lisa Hill.

  • Turnkey operation ready to go
  • Existing brand and branding
  • Accessories and equipment included
  • Established social media presence
  • Facebook, Instagram and functional website

Lisa and Nick have told us that this versatile opportunity includes, “An extremely popular private hire service bringing out top quality pizzas from our friendly staff, through set-ups at Food Markets, private events and right up to film sets”.

Wherever it goes this Chevrolet Viking truck grabs attention at every event. It is big, bold and eye-catching. There is no chance this will get lost in a sea of other eateries. While our vendors will be the first to concede they have not maximised this business opportunity, they do advise, without having to try very hard it does make a very good return. With a little more time and application, which unfortunately they simply can’t give to the business at the moment, they anticipate that the new owners would be able to significantly increase the takings they were achieving.

The Truck

An iconic Chevrolet Viking 60, finished in very clean blue and white livery.

We understand the beautiful vintage 1959 Chevrolet Viking has been fully restored to its former glory with a fabulous wood fired pizza oven added. The Chevy’s previous life was in sunny North Carolina USA.

  • 3.8 litre engine
  • Four speed manual transmission
  • Bench seat in cab
  • LHD
  • A very lovely period interior in good condition
  • Four spoke wing mirrors

Chevrolet is an instantly recognised brand. The Chevrolet Viking 60 was a heavy-duty truck that belonged to the Chevy Viking line of commercial vehicles. These trucks were built on a sturdy, steel frame that proved to be highly reliable, this one is testament to that.

With a spacious cabin in great condition that offers comfortable seating and a range of creature comforts. The truck’s exterior was characterized by its classic, boxy shape and that wonderful 1950’s front end which gives it that distinctive and stylish look.

The Chevrolet Viking 60 was a reliable and versatile workhorse which played an important role in the American transportation industry. Even today, the Chevy Viking line of trucks remains an icon of 1950s American automotive engineering and design.

Our view

The mobile catering business is booming. In recent years the popularity has surged, and rapidly too. What started 20 years ago as dodgy roadside burger vans has now expanded into cocktails bars, gourmet food offerings and even Michelin starred food outlets.

This business has an established social media platform on which to build, and the truck itself has massive scope, you could literally go wild, inventing your own special creations to suit each venue. It could range from a large volume grab-and-go menu, right up to slow cooked, artisan style, locally sourced organic produce.

This could be a mobile extension to an already existing catering business, or your very own low cost start-up, on which to build. The possibilities are enormous. The cost isn’t and neither is the reserve.

Please remember, our site uses anti-sniping software which ensures fairness to all bidders. So, if a bid for a lot is received in the last minute, the auction will go into a 2-minute overtime period for each subsequent bid.

Vehicle Location: Bromley, Kent BR2– it’s the responsibility of the buyer to make collection / transportation arrangements directly with the vendor.

Guide Prices?

We’re different. But you know that. And we’re always honest. In a sector where no two classics are same, how does anyone put a ‘guide’.

Well, everyone knows the broad value of classic, let’s all be honest. So we don’t need to tell you what you already know, do we.

The ‘market’ decides and the old cliché that ‘it’s worth what someone wants to pay’ is no less true. So why kid everyone!

But, because we are different, if it really does matter to you, that’s fine, we want you to be happy. Just drop us a line at auction@evoke-classics.com and one of us will be delighted to ring you back and discuss, it’s what we do.

Tedious but it’s vital you read this, please.

We will always strive to offer the most descriptive and transparent auction listings available. However, we can’t claim to be perfect. Your own analysis is very important and we are here to help and also answer any and all queries you may have prior to purchase.

We offer and positively encourage buyers to view, or arrange inspections for each vehicle thoroughly prior to bidding.

If we do take a physical, as opposed to a remote, look at any of the vehicles on our platform, they are not those of a qualified vehicle inspector or other professional. Nor do they include a test drive unless expressly stated.

As with all vehicles of a certain age, localised paint repairs are common. This specifically applies with classics.

So, please, unless we state explicitly to the contrary, please assume that classic vehicles on our platform could have had remedial bodywork of any kind at some point in its life.

Two final comments on images and photos.

The vast majority are supplied by vendors. Camera technology has and continues to improve significantly, but please note and understand that image and sound quality does vary. If you would like vendors to provide more images please ask us and we will contact the vendor for you.

If you are at all unsure, just ask us. It is what we are here for.

Finally, finally, finally. Please note that vehicles are sold as seen and a returns policy is not applicable. This is the norm for used items acquired at auction.
