If you want old school charm, a great v-twin sound, stunning looks and handling to surprise the odd modern motorcycle the Ducati 750 SuperSport (SS) is the one to go for. It will draw attention everywhere it goes. When it stops, expect a small gathering of fellow enthusiasts that are green with envy probably.

The glory years of Ducati’s sporting pedigree, during the 1990s, was a great time. Ducati were beating everyone in the WSB Championship, and its 916 range of models were the ultimate in very expensive Italian exotica. Owning exotica was out of reach for most everyday riders.

Detecting that riders wanted to buy into Ducati’s sporting success, Ducati improved the SS range. The SS bikes quickly formed a reputation for being reliable, practical and achingly good looking. But above everything else, still true to the Ducati sporting heritage.

The majority of the 750SS is fitted with trickle down technology from the 900SS.

  • Classic Ducati Red.
  • Lattice framework.
  • Box section alloy swing arm pivoting on a classy Showa shock at the rear
  • Upside down matching Showa forks at the front.
  • Twin ‘dinner plate’ sized Brembos at the front.
  • And of course, the incredible V-twin.

Real riders, like many of us, loved them back then and that’s why today when a good one comes along people do not hang about.

  • This 1993 Ducati 750 SS has been with our vendor for an incredible 27 years
  • It has covered just 13,000 miles
  • All original with no daft modifications
  • “Everything is as it should be with no expense spared on looking after it by Ducati John in Leeds” our Vendor tells us
  • Most receipts available
  • Lots of MOT history
  • The Ducati had the all-important new cam belts fitted 2 years ago
  • The bike has been ridden 300 miles since.
  • This one is unique in that it has the rare gold frame and wheels.
  • A ‘new old stock’ (NOS) petrol tank has been fitted
  • New chain
  • New brake pads.
  • In 2023 the carbs had a complete overhaul
  • It will come with Paddock stand and a box of bits.

Our vendor sums up the Ducati like this, “You would struggle to find a better original genuine 750SS”

In a way, the 750SS is surprising. It is light and small. But climb on and it’s more upright and roomier than you first think. Of course, you’d be bonkers to think you can blatt off to the South of France with a group of mates on a big adventure, but it is surprisingly more practical than a 916 or a Senna. Reasonable mirrors, a respectable seat padding and a good fairing mean it can be ridden and enjoyed.

It is every inch a visceral Ducati experience. Walk towards it and you’ll be smiling. Fire up the V-twin and the hairs on the back of year neck will come alive – as will the neighbours. The Desmo V-Twin delivers bags of roll-on power. Going fast means brisk and quick not manic and panic. It’s best on fast A-roads where you can just wind on and off as you swoop along. Pure motorcycling pleasure.

Summary

Every motorbike enthusiast should own one of these at some point.

If you’re going to, then buying one from long term ownership, with good history, that is all original is your best bet.

They are fabulous value at the moment. These are a lot of bike, but as they become rarer and the 30-year rule kicks in, that’s where we see prices start to trend upwards. We don’t think prices will stay like this for much longer.

Vehicle Location: Howden, East Yorkshire DN14 – it’s the responsibility of the winning bidder to make collection / transportation arrangements directly with the vendors.

Guide Prices?

We’re different. But you know that. And we’re always honest. In a sector where no two classics are same, how does anyone put a ‘guide’.

Well, everyone knows the broad value of classic, let’s all be honest. So, we don’t need to tell you what you already know, do we.

The ‘market’ decides and the old cliché that ‘it’s worth what someone wants to pay’ is no less true. So why kid everyone!

But, because we are different, if it really does matter to you, that’s fine, we want you to be happy. Just drop us a line at team@evoke-classics.com and one of us will be delighted to get back to you, it’s what we do.

Tedious but it’s vital you read this, please.

We will always strive to offer the most descriptive and transparent auction listings available. However, we can’t claim to be perfect. Your own analysis is very important, and we are here to help and answer any and all queries you may have prior to purchase.

We offer and positively encourage buyers to view or arrange inspections for each vehicle thoroughly prior to bidding.

If we do take a physical, as opposed to a remote, look at any of the vehicles on our platform, they are not those of a qualified vehicle inspector or other professional. Nor do they include a test drive unless expressly stated.

As with all vehicles of a certain age, localised paint repairs are common. This specifically applies with classics.

So, please, unless we state explicitly to the contrary, please assume that classic vehicles on our platform could have had remedial bodywork of any kind at some point in its life.

Two final comments on images and photos.

The vast majority are supplied by vendors. Camera technology has and continues to improve significantly, but please note and understand that image and sound quality does vary. If you would like vendors to provide more images, please ask us and we will contact the vendor for you.

If you are at all unsure, just ask us. It is what we are here for.

Finally, finally, finally. Please note that vehicles are sold as seen and a returns policy is not applicable. This is the norm for used items acquired at auction.
