Throughout its production, the Mini was offered in a variety of limited editions which included special combinations of trim and badging. Part of the London Collection, the Mayfair hit the market in 1982 and provided buyers with various options of coloured grille, door handles, bumpers, door mirrors, plastic wheel arch extensions and sill finishers.

Finished in Teal Blue Metallic paint with a grey chevron velour interior, this 1993 Rover Mini Mayfair was ordered with walnut dash, sunroof and automatic gearbox to drive the 1275cc engine.  Our vendor acquired the Mini Mayfair four months ago from its original owner and is keen to tell the story of how this stunning, low mileage example has spent its life so far.

“Bought new from Perry’s Rover in Rotherham on the 25th June 1993, by Mr S Ryan.

Mr Ryan returned to Perry’s every year to have the Mini serviced, you can even see how the stamp used in the service book was upgraded as the years went on.  An obviously meticulous man, he MOT’d the car every year and kept every shred of paperwork along the way including previous log books, lots of old tax discs and MOT certificates, all of which substantiate the recorded mileage of 8,550. Mr Ryan used the Mayfair sparingly until he eventually parked it up in his garage in 2012. It continued to be mollycoddled and maintained by his son who regularly ran the engine and changed the fluids.

Since acquiring the Mini Mayfair I have had it serviced and fully replaced all the brakes for a complete new set up of genuine parts. Discs, pads, brake drums and shoes, even flexi hoses and fitting kit. The brakes did work fine but they were showing signs of corrosion. The car stops like a modern car. The car was then taken for it’s first MOT in 11 years where it passed with no advisories.

K320 HKW was NEVER used in the rain – not once! It languished in a carpeted garage – hence the condition throughout. The bodywork is absolutely stunning as you can see, all the usual areas of concern are in perfect order and the car has never had any paint! I’ve photographed the rain gutters too and they are as like new inside. The only imperfections that I can find are two tiny blisters which you can see in the image gallery.

The Teal Blue metallic paint has a deep shine and flips from green to blue in different lights, the chrome work is all very good, and the suspension components and underside are good enough to eat your dinner off. The Mini has 4 full tread Pirelli tyres, its original hub caps and dealer plates. Mr Ryan fitted 2 spotlights to the front which look great and work perfectly but can be removed easily should you wish.

Inside, the car is completely unmarked, and the upholstery is tight and firm on all seats. The carpets are also in perfect order and show no wear at all. The walnut trim is still shiny and fresh. The roof lining is also as new.

The log book is present and states no previous owners.  The original booklet pack is present, complete and looks untouched; containing security card, in car entertainment manual, owner’s handbook and service record. There are also all the original spare keys.

Our View

A thirty year old icon in fab condition. This Mini Mayfair has one registered owner from new and just 8,550 miles on the clock and as you read above, has lived a very cossetted life!

You certainly don’t need to hear our view to know that opportunities like this don’t come along every day of the week!  We LOVE it.

Good luck bidding! Please remember, our site uses anti-sniping software which ensures fairness to all bidders. So, if a bid for a lot is received in the last minute, the auction will go into a 2-minute overtime period for each subsequent bid.

Vehicle Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire S60 – it’s the responsibility of the buyer to make collection / transportation arrangements directly with the vendor.

Guide Prices?

We’re different. But you know that. And we’re always honest. In a sector where no two classics are same, how does anyone put a ‘guide’.

Well, everyone knows the broad value of classic, let’s all be honest. So we don’t need to tell you what you already know, do we.

The ‘market’ decides and the old cliché that ‘it’s worth what someone wants to pay’ is no less true. So why kid everyone!

But, because we are different, if it really does matter to you, that’s fine, we want you to be happy. Just drop us a line at auction@evoke-classics.com and one of us will be delighted to ring you back and discuss, it’s what we do.

Tedious but it’s vital you read this, please.

We will always strive to offer the most descriptive and transparent auction listings available. However, we can’t claim to be perfect. Your own analysis is very important and we are here to help and also answer any and all queries you may have prior to purchase.

We offer and positively encourage buyers to view, or arrange inspections for each vehicle thoroughly prior to bidding.

If we do take a physical, as opposed to a remote, look at any of the vehicles on our platform, they are not those of a qualified vehicle inspector or other professional. Nor do they include a test drive unless expressly stated.

As with all vehicles of a certain age, localised paint repairs are common. This specifically applies with classics.

So, please, unless we state explicitly to the contrary, please assume that classic vehicles on our platform could have had remedial bodywork of any kind at some point in its life.

Two final comments on images and photos.

The vast majority are supplied by vendors. Camera technology has and continues to improve significantly, but please note and understand that image and sound quality does vary. If you would like vendors to provide more images please ask us and we will contact the vendor for you.

If you are at all unsure, just ask us. It is what we are here for.

Finally, finally, finally. Please note that vehicles are sold as seen and a returns policy is not applicable. This is the norm for used items acquired at auction.
