Maserati has a long history of building fast four-door cars. The fifth generation Quattroporte, launched in 2004, was a massive success. It was voted the coolest car on the planet by GQ magazine. The Quattroporte quickly became a viable alternative to the everyday German marques.

The GT S version is particularly prized. A host of performance enhancements take the Maserati to another level.

History

  • First registered 15 January 2007
  • Owned by our vendor since 2020
  • Serviced at a Ferrari specialist during his ownership
  • It’s now time for someone else to have the pleasure of this Maserati
  • A new MOT was issued in January 2024 with no advisories

Mechanicals

Aside from tyre wear, the MOT history reveals a remarkably reliable car. This finally lays to rest the myth about Italian cars.

The Quattroporte Sport GT came with several performance upgrades; a re-configured transmission providing faster gearshifts, a firmer Skyhook suspension system, cross-drilled brake rotors, and braided brake lines.

  • 44,000 miles
  • 4.2 litre Ferrari V8 engine
  • 395 bhp
  • 0-60 in 5.0 secs
  • A licence shredding top speed of 170mph
  • Six-speed DuoSelect gearbox
  • Adaptive Skyhoot suspension
  • Silver brake calipers
  • Good service history and low mileage ensure this example is in good health mechanically
  • All totally standard with no crazy software modifications

Our vendor tells us; “The Maserati has a full service history. I’ve had it serviced twice at Ferrari specialist in the time I’ve owned it. There are new tyres on the front, the rears have done no more than a couple of thousand miles”.

Inside

Very few car manufacturers do interiors like the Italians. Here is a flavour of that exquisite eccentric quality.

The Maserati came with a Poltrona Frau interior. Poltrona Frau is a Sardinian furniture-maker founded in 1912 by Renzo Frau. Based in Tolentin since the 60s, it specialises in leather for automotive manufacturers. Their exhaustive quality standards use a 21-step leather tanning process where the full-grain leather is dyed through, so a surface scratch won’t reveal a lining underneath. It is reported 95% of the company’s products are made by hand. The company name combines poltrona, the Italian word for ‘armchair’, and Frau, the last name of its founder. Only on an Italian car.

A true four-seater Supercar. Practical. Stylish. Fun. Those tailpipes really finish the look off. What a package.

Summary

Sports cars are usually a compromise. Two seats. Minimal access. Difficult to use every day. The complete opposite is true of this car. This Quattroporte, is in great mechanical and cosmetic specification. Good service history. Great colour. With very few miles under its belt, this Maserati is a prime example. We’re not shy to say we’ll be deeply envious of its new owner.

Vehicle Location: Swanley, Kent BR8 – it’s the responsibility of the winning bidder to make collection / transportation arrangements directly with the vendors.

Guide Prices?

We’re different. But you know that. And we’re always honest. In a sector where no two classics are same, how does anyone put a ‘guide’.

Well, everyone knows the broad value of classic, let’s all be honest. So, we don’t need to tell you what you already know, do we.

The ‘market’ decides and the old cliché that ‘it’s worth what someone wants to pay’ is no less true. So why kid everyone!

But, because we are different, if it really does matter to you, that’s fine, we want you to be happy. Just drop us a line at team@evoke-classics.com and one of us will be delighted to get back to you, it’s what we do.

Tedious but it’s vital you read this, please.

We will always strive to offer the most descriptive and transparent auction listings available. However, we can’t claim to be perfect. Your own analysis is very important, and we are here to help and answer any and all queries you may have prior to purchase.

We offer and positively encourage buyers to view or arrange inspections for each vehicle thoroughly prior to bidding.

If we do take a physical, as opposed to a remote, look at any of the vehicles on our platform, they are not those of a qualified vehicle inspector or other professional. Nor do they include a test drive unless expressly stated.

As with all vehicles of a certain age, localised paint repairs are common. This specifically applies with classics.

So, please, unless we state explicitly to the contrary, please assume that classic vehicles on our platform could have had remedial bodywork of any kind at some point in its life.

Two final comments on images and photos.

The vast majority are supplied by vendors. Camera technology has and continues to improve significantly, but please note and understand that image and sound quality does vary. If you would like vendors to provide more images, please ask us and we will contact the vendor for you.

If you are at all unsure, just ask us. It is what we are here for.

Finally, finally, finally. Please note that vehicles are sold as seen and a returns policy is not applicable. This is the norm for used items acquired at auction.
