Big, bold and brash; American car manufacturer Cadillac is not one to be ignored. Find a pink one and you are truly in a world of big, bold and brash sixties extravagance. Instantly iconic – the one and only Elvis drove one – so why not follow in those massive footsteps by buying this accessible example? Okay, it will need a bit of work before you cruise down the strip, but it can’t be that often an opportunity like this appears.

This example may not be for the faint hearted; if you take a look in the image gallery you will see that this iconic car will need plenty of love and attention but come on, be honest, who does not love the idea of owning a Pink Cadillac?

Originally purchased by our vendor two years ago. Not being daunted by a big project, he had full intentions of completely restoring the iconic Caddy. Unfortunately, life took over, specifically the opportunity to take on a new home – which was a project that became equally as big. As with so many of these projects, life and a change of circumstance has put paid to his ambitions and ultimately, the tough decision to let it go has had to be made.

• The current UK V5
• An original Owner’s Manual
• An original accessory manual
• An original protection plan manual
• Three keys covering all the locks and ignition

Scrutinising the paperwork that comes with the Cadillac (see images in the gallery), it appears that the car was initially imported to Scotland in 1965 before being re registered with its current number plate on August 14, 1985.

Currently parked in the barn that you see in the images and with the restoration awaiting to be started, as mentioned above life and a new home took over, not able to complete both projects he had to prioritise, so the home took precedence.  Two years on and realisation has hit home that the Pink Cadillac project will probably not get started so here she is, ready for another passionate soul to take on this exciting project.

As can also be seen in the images the monster seven litre V8 engine has had the carbs removed as its previous owner did attempt to start the project before our vendor took it on.  This does not help us understand the extent of what’s needed to get it running, in fact our vendor has not even had time to turn the engine.  That said there are some massive positives in that he does believe that everything removed has been safely stored in the trunk, as they call it on the other side of the pond.

The bodywork looks to need attention in many areas so we advise you to check the images thoroughly before buying as the Caddy will be sold as seen with no guarantees. You will notice that all the panels are present except the rear wheel arch spats, these are also in the trunk and will be supplied with the car. The wheel caps can also been in the trunk and the headlamps are also confirmed to be present. Our vendor shared that the usual poor window frames all seem to be very solid and in good condition.

The same goes for the interior, it’s all present and in decent condition, American cars always excel in this department and this Caddy doesn’t disappoint, just look at it…  This is one area of the car that really doesn’t need much more than a good clean up and it will come up trumps…

Our vendor cannot elaborate too much about the running gear as he hasn’t got round to starting the car, but it does roll and there is no reason why the running gear isn’t completely serviceable.

Other than the basic info shared above it really is what it is, check out the images, arrange a viewing if you like or just buy with your heart and the knowledge that you will be buying an exciting project that you can pile your love and effort into.

Summary

There really isn’t much to be said about the car itself as the images say it all, what we can say is that it is a great opportunity to own a slice of American history that will take you back to an opulent time where the swinging sixties were dominated by big bold extravagance that put rock and roll on the map.
