Classic events are aplenty at the moment, so I hope you are managing to get out and about to show off your beloved vehicle.
I had the pleasure of attending the 30th annual Boston Classic Car Show on Sunday 8th August at their new 10 acre site. The weather forecast really wasn’t very promising and I had a sinking feeling about the day, who on earth was going to attend a classic car show in this weather?! Armed with my waterproofs, hat and brolly I headed over to the site expecting to see an empty, very soggy field.
But no, oh no, ye of little faith!
Through the drizzle I spied a row of classics, then another and another. It seemed that after the year we had had, the classic car community were ready to show their vehicles to the world and nothing was going to stop them.
There really was something for everyone, from fast Fords to Austin A30s, American muscle to British commercials, all of them being lovingly dried off between the rain showers! I loved the attention to detail with accessories such as the huge brick phone and 90’s cassette tapes nestling in the console of the XR3i, it’s those little touches that give people an extra smile!
Days like Sunday don’t last long enough, before I knew it the site was empty and it was time to get on the road. Memories banked, new friends made ……… surely that’s what it’s all about.
