One of the UK’s largest rallies for bus fans is back!

Over 100 vintage and modern buses are expected at the Museum on Saturday 6 July for Wythall Busfest@Gaydon. Organised in partnership with Transport Museum Wythall, the show will feature a remarkable display of restored, vintage and modern buses and coaches from up and down the UK.

2024 marks the 120th anniversary of the formation of BMMO (Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company), famously becoming Midland Red, so we’re planning a historic line-up of vehicles from this innovative company, with examples running on the free services during the day. Post-2000 buses are becoming more and more popular, too, and we can expect a few on display here, with hybrid and fully electric vehicles in attendance.

Visitors can also enjoy free heritage bus rides around local routes and the Museum’s internal road network. To complement the show a number of indoor and outdoor traders will also be joining the Wythall Busfest, bringing with them a wide variety of ‘bus’ related wares for visitors to browse and purchase: including books, DVDs, models and more – a perfect place for visitors to shop for a unique gift or for a new addition to an existing collection.

Tickets for the show include entry to the Museum and Collections Centre, giving you the chance to see over 400 historic British cars covering more than a century of history. It’s not just cars in the Museum though, we also have a 1923 AEC S-type bus! With so much to see, you’ll be sure to work up an appetite. We’ve got you covered with the Junction 12 Café in the Museum serving delicious meals, sweet treats and refreshments, while quick bites such as burgers and ice creams are available outside.
