That lovely bunch over at Historics have their auction at Ascot Racecourse this weekend.  Read on to find out what I think are the pick of the bunch.

As I’m away on my holibobs I won’t be there to give them a helping hand like usual, but I’ve had a good old flick through their catalogue and there’s a fab selection of vehicles to choose from. I particularly like this concours winning Dolly Sprint in Russett Brown with only 55,700 miles on the clock, originally a Leyland works car which is said to have an amazing history file – guided at £12,000 – £15,000.

Also on my radar is this extremely low mileage 1988 Citroen 2CV6 which has been part of a private collection for over 20 years and has only covered 4,005 miles, YES 4,005! Complete with V5, MOT certificates and the original Citroen service book and manual this must be one of the lowest mileage 2CV’s on the planet. Buy it and store it or buy it and drive it? That’s the question!

There’s plenty for everyone at this auction, from Astons to MG’s, a Land Rover Fire Engine to a 1945 GMC DUKW plus a few nice reg numbers going under the hammer too.
Don’t take my word for it, check out the catalogue and have a peruse www.historics.co.uk  If you decide to have a bid, just remember, there’s commission on the hammer price too so make sure you factor it in to your budget. Happy bidding.
