It seems the whole of the country will be partying this weekend, any excuse for a good old knees up, eh? I, for one, will be consuming copious amounts of tea and cake…Yorkshire tea, obviously :-)

Royal Classics

When it comes to the Royal Family and cars, you probably think of Rolls Royce Phantoms, Range Rovers and Astons and you would be right to, they have owned plenty! But I reckon Queenie is a woman after my own heart when it comes to her taste in cars. Rumoured to be one of the favourite cars she ever owned is a Vauxhall Cresta PA Friary Estate, complete with fishing rod holder, gun rack and a Corgi proof dog guard.

Back in 1957 she was presented with a Renault Dauphine, lucky lass, which the Prince of Wales went on to take his driving lessons in. But it’s her daughter Anne who wins the ‘Royal Taste Award’, at the age of 20 she owned a Reliant Scimitar SE5. What an uber cool Princess!

The Classic & Performance Car Spectacular

Now we are into June, the classic event calendar has really ramped up, with plenty of shows to choose from this weekend. One of the most popular being The Classic & Performance Car Spectacular at Tatton Park which promises to host around 2000 vehicles over the 2 days, 4th – 5th June. Showcasing loyal clubs and their exceptional motors, plenty of trade stands plus a huge autojumble with specialist suppliers, it’s sure to be a good ‘un. Click below for more info..
